About

aback Summer ’26: Gertrude in HAMLET, Ulysses in TROILUS & CRESSIDA, Utah Shakespeare Festival

pitilessly Hi, I’m Mare. (Rhymes with “dare”.) She/her.

I’ve narrated over 1,250 audiobooks, recording for Podium, Scribd, Dreamscape, National Library Service, Audible, Bristlecone, Books to Life, Talking Books, Analog Friends, Shadow Alley Press, JMM, and others.

I voice a lot of commercials, explainers, and character stuff, too.

Though I have deep experience performing Shakespeare, I love non-traditional performance. In recent years, I’ve performed in one-on-one theater at the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art; directed microtheater in a bookstore and Denver’s central library for Off-Center; directed with the awesome disability-affirmative Phamaly Theatre Company; worked with architects in Ahmedabad, India creating “dance about buildings” with Shubhra Raje; and acted in the Sundance Directors Lab.

Travel is my big love. I’m happiest on a rocky shore. I also love to grow things, paint, cook, hike, teach all ages of students (preK- older adults), and snuggle with mammals.

My husband, Eryc, is a mensch and tolerates/enables the adventuring.

SERVICE: Kindey donor (highly recommend!); former board member of IDEAs; current board member of Local Theater Company; organizer of a group connecting listeners of the National Library Service with one another and narrators; writer of monthly newsletter for Spacehouse Himalayas.
